Implantology

With the installation of implants, our team with many years of experience working with Straumann implants can provide you with a much more comfortable prosthetic solution. The implant represents a replacement for the root of the tooth in the bone and therefore has the shape and size of the tooth root. Thanks to the implantation of the implants and their attachment to the surrounding bone tissue, it is possible to replace one prosthesis with one prosthetic tooth, a tooth group, or make a bridge or denture support as a replacement for all the teeth in the fork.

Implantologija

  • Implants placement

A dental implant is an artificial compensation that replaces the root that is missing. Implant placement is considered one of the most successful procedures in dentistry. The success rate of implants is 98%. At our clinic, we are placing implants of worldwide brands such as Straumann, Nobel, Sweden & Martina, Implant Direct...

  • Augmentation

Augmentation or bone augmentation is the process by which either your own or an artificial bone is transplanted. After transplanting or augmenting, you should wait a few months to ensure complete osseointegration (splicing with bones). Bone augmentation is a procedure performed when installation of an implant is impossible due to a lack of bone.

  • Sinus lift

Sinus lift is a relatively common oral surgery procedure which increases the height of the bone in the upper jaw, in order to successfully carry out the implant placement. The maxillary sinuses are behind the cheek bone and extend from the area under the eye to just above the back teeth.
The purpose of this post is a response to one of the most common asked questions by the patients - whether a sinus lift is a painful procedure? Sinus lift is an everyday painless procedure (preformed under local anesthesia), done routinely in our clinic. Similar to the procedures, such as fillings, tooth treatment or extraction, no special preparation of the patient is needed.

Prosthetics

Significant tissue loss of individual teeth or deficiency of one or more teeth requires prosthetic reconstruction. Such reconstructions are the biggest challenge for every dentist, since they aim to reconstruct lost tissue and / or teeth in an aesthetic and functional whole, resulting in an ideal smile.

Protetika

  • Mobile prosthetics

Mobile prosthetics (those that can be removed) include partial (partially missing teeth) and complete dentures (complete lack of teeth).
Considering the type of base the teeth are placed onto, we have acrylic or metal (Wironit) dentures. We are also able to offer you Valplast (i.e. Silicon) elastic dentures.

  • Fixed dentures

Fixed dentures are permanently cemented onto existing teeth (or implants). They are crowns, veneers and bridges. They are made in a dental laboratory based on an impression taken at the dental office. They can be made either in metal or non-metal ceramics.
Today we prefer the non-metal ceramics due to its biocompatibility and aesthetic superiority. We use non-metal ceramics to avoid the possibility of dark edges which may appear as a result of metal-ceramic restorations (due to edge metal screening). Furthermore, there is no possibility of corrosion and release of metal particles.

Orthodontics

Orthodontics deals with the diagnosis and correction of irregularities in the position of the teeth and the surrounding structures. There are no age restrictions for orthodontic treatment, but therapy for adults lasts than it is the case with children. The ideal age for orthodontic treatment for children is 8-15 years, because there are far more therapeutic options for children in adolescence than for patients who have completed their growth.

In addition to a beautiful smile, orthodontic treatment will contribute to the harmonious profile appearance, proper chewing, improvement of speech, better oral hygiene and will reduce the possibilities of cavities and periodontal disease development.

Ortopedija vilica

  • Mobile orthodont apparatus

They are applied in mixed dentition, and can be used as long as the growth and development of the fork is taking place. The patients themselves can put and remove them from the mouth. It is important to emphasize that in the treatment of mobile devices, the cooperation and the patient's desire to carry the device is extremely important, because, in order to be successful, the apparatus must be worn at night and for several hours during the day.

  • Mobile orthodont apparatus

They are applied in a complete permanent dentition, and some can be applied in mixed form. These are the locks that adorn the teeth. Due to the position of gluing, they are divided into labial (visible) and lingual (hidden behind the teeth). Orthodontic sets a fixed apparatus consisting of rings, latches and wires, and in regular controls it activates the appliance by exchanging wires or by placing certain active elements (rubber, federations, etc.). The locks can be silicone or metal. There is no age limit for wearing fixed orthodontic appliances.

Upon completion of the therapy, when the desired result is achieved, i.e. ideal position and relationship of teeth, your perfect smile should be preserved and therefore, in agreement with the orthodontist, you receive some form of retention devices that will keep your teeth in the position they have achieved.

  • Invisalign system

It involves the production of individual, transparent plastic films worn during the day and at night. The foils are made serially based on the prints of your teeth and after a few weeks of wearing it changes, and each film performs a gradual movement of the teeth. When the teeth reach the desired position, a retention film is set which has the role to ensure the position of the teeth in the next few months, since the shifted teeth tend to return to the old position.

Oral surgery

Oral surgery deals with surgical treatment and treatment of hard and soft tissue of the oral cavity. Since it is the most viable branch of dentistry, it requires special access, knowledge and commitment, both for the doctor and for the patient.

Oralna hirurgija

  • Impaction

Extraction of impacted wisdom teeth or another impacted tooth is a surgical procedure and is fundamentally different from the extraction of erupted tooth. Extraction of wisdom teeth is the most common surgical procedure in oral surgery.
During the eruption, wisdom teeth can cause inflammation and painful symptoms that are called Pericoronitis - inflammation of the surrounding gingiva (gums) around the wisdom tooth. Symptoms of aggravated eruption of the wisdom teeth are pain and swelling, difficulties during opening of the mouth, bad breath, and elevated temperature...

  • Apicoectomy

Tooth root resection. If a conservative treatment (endodontics) of the root canal is not possible, it is necessary to rehabilitate the chronic granuloma, and the best way of preserving the teeth is the removal of the root apex with granulomatous process (resection). In the case of cysts in the top area of the root, the procedure is identical. Filling the root canal is mostly done through the crown of the tooth just before the surgery, and in some cases over the top of the shortened root.

  • Frenulectomia

Frenulectomia is a minor surgical procedure that requires removal of outgrown or overexpressed frenulum (in upper or lower jaw). Frenulum can be simply described as a small lobe that connects the inner part of the lip with the gums. Sometimes the frenulum may create difficulties in the eruption of permanent maxillary central incisors, and this is the reason frenulectomia is done.

  • Leveling of the alveolar ridge

  • Closing of the oroantral communication

In some individuals, the roots of the posterior teeth can be in very close proximity with maxillary sinus, and there can occur a communication between the sinus and oral cavity if they are extracted.

Periodontology

Periodontology is a branch of dentistry that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the supporting apparatus of teeth and gum (gingiva). Periodontal diseases are now the leading cause of tooth loss among adults. Warning signs that, if not treated in time, can lead to deterioration of the surrounding bone and tooth loss are: swollen, red and bleeding gums, bad breath, loose teeth. Periodontal disease is primarily the result of inadequate dental hygiene. The main cause of the disease are the bacteria found in dental plaque and tartar.

Parodontologija

  • Ultrasonic cleaning of tartar

Initial therapy which involves ultrasonic cleaning of tartar helps to maintain oral health. In addition to calming the inflammation of their gums and bleeding, cleaning of tartar helps in eliminating bad breath, as well as the removal of pigment staining of teeth that occur as a result of smoking, drinking coffee and teas.

This way the early stages of periodontal disease, along with further good oral hygiene, can be rehabilitated and slowed down. Advanced stages require additional procedures, which in turn require the application of periodontal surgery, i.e. procedures as overlays of exposed root of the tooth (gingival recession), administering artificial bone and / or growth factors.

Conservative Dentistry

The ultimate goal of conservative dentistry is healthy, beautiful and functional teeth. Conservative dentistry is the foundation of dentistry and is based on diagnosis, prevention and treatment of caries.

Dental caries is an infection caused by existing bacteria in the oral cavity and food residues. By feeding, bacteria consume food (sucrose), and as a result of this process they produce acids that reduce the pH of the teeth. Acids in such cases damage the tooth's eye by creating cavities. Then the dentist cleans the area of the tooth where the caries are located all the way to the healthy part of the teeth. Surface caries are removed by fluoride, while deeper lenses are mechanically removed or removed by a dental drill. After removal of the caries, the tooth must be filled with the appropriate fill. The fill can be single, double or triple, which depends on the size of the caries.

Konzrvativna stomatologija

  • Composite fillings

Making fillings is a minimally invasive treatment, used to reconstructed (upgraded) parts of teeth affected by caries, that must be removed or the smaller parts of teeth broken by trauma. In our clinic the filling are made out of composite materials (the so-called "white fillings"). Composite fillings have almost completely pushed the amalgam ("gray seal") out of the use. They bond micro-mechanical and chemical with the hard dental tissue so that, with appropriate selection of color and type of composite material, and by imitating natural morphological shape of each tooth, it is possible to achieve perfect aesthetic and functional result.

  • Ceramic Inlays

If the tooth has slightly more extensive damage, it is necessary to consider the possibility of making indirect ceramic restorations (inlays, onlays). We say indirectly, because (unlike directly made composite fillings) it is manufactured in a dental laboratory based on an impression taken at the office. After being manufactured in the laboratory, it is returned to the office, where it is cemented into the cavity of the tooth. Due to the quality of the material from which it is made, it is functionally and aesthetically superior to composite fillings.

  • Endodontics

Endodontics (Root canal treatment) is the branch of dentistry that deals with the treatment of pathological processes in the dental pulp. Dental pulp is located in the pulp chamber, in the center of the tooth and it gives the tooth its vitality. It is necessary to treat the pulp when it is infected, or dying due to penetration of the bacteria and their toxins into the tooth’s interior (mostly because of untreated caries or dental trauma). Inflammation of the pulp can be manifested by severe pain, but sometimes the dying pulp tissue can occur slowly and painlessly, due to slow progress of inflammation. Endodontic treatment includes: cleaning of pathologically changed pulp from the pulp chamber and root canals, their expansion (with special instruments), disinfection and definitive filling of root canal. In our office we also use Apexlocator, the apparatus that accurately determines the length of the canal and thus enables an even and accurate filling of the channel up to the root’s top.

Cosmetic dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry includes a collection of various dental treatments that aim to improve the appearance of the teeth, gums, and therefore the smile in its entirety. Yellow teeth, inclined teeth, damaged or irregular teeth can become shiny, well formed, regular and perfectly white teeth in no time by using modern methods offered by aesthetic dentistry. It is encouraging that these interventions are without discomfort and pain, and that is why there is really no reason to postpone the beautification of teeth.

Estetska stomatologija

  • Teeth whitening

Teeth whitening is a cosmetic procedure that can make your teeth whiter than they have ever been. Bright smile always attracts attention, but the whiteness of the teeth gradually declines due to natural aging process of the teeth. The dental enamel, the surface layer of the tooth, eventually becomes thinner. The thinned enamel exposes the deeper layer of the tooth, which is called dentin and is yellow in color. Darkening of the teeth is also caused by the consumption of foods and beverages with intense dark pigments (e.g. beets, blueberries, red wine, coffee, dark tea and juices.), and especially by smoking.

  • Ceramic veneers

Ceramic veneers are used to reduce the spacing between the teeth, to control irregular shaped teeth and for beautification of the teeth that have lost their whiteness or smooth enamel, or the teeth are cracked. Veneers are particularly suitable for front teeth, since the thin layer is applied only to the front of the teeth. The very small flakes are permanently cemented to the tooth and completely change its appearance.

  • Metal-free crowns

Due to their many properties, metal-free crowns (ceramic), are currently the best material for making prosthetic devices. Our long-term studies have shown remarkable stability and durability of all-ceramic crowns, and the aesthetics achieved with this material is reason it has been singled out and put in a convincing first place.

Hyaluronic fillers & PRF

Non-invasive medical aesthetic treatments for skin rejuvenation and aesthetics are simple, safe and painless, lasting from 15 to 30 minutes after which the patient can return to his daily routine. The effect of tension, core and hydration is achieved. The skin becomes smooth, the youth facial structure returns.

Hijaluronski fileri

  • Hyaluronic filers

The hyaluronic filer is a substance in the form of a gel that plays a role in supporting collagen fibers and other skin factors. It is naturally found in the human organism, and 50% of its total amount is found in the skin. Hyaluronic acid is absorbed over time, during the natural aging process. The essence of the treatment with filers is to compensate for the amount of hyaluronic acid that has been absorbed over time.

    Hyaluronic fillers can:

    • fill the naso-labial wrinkles,
    • fill the puppets,
    • fill the wrinkles on the forehead and between the eyebrows,
    • increase chest,
    • enlarge the lips and expose the edges of the lips,
    • Fill the wrinkles above the upper and below the lower lips ...

Hyaluronic fillers are injected directly into the skin in small amounts, using thin, fine needles. In order to achieve your maximum comfort, local anesthesia is applied. The treatment is simple, safe and painless, lasting 10 to 30 minutes. Results are seen immediately after treatment. After treatment, redness or mild swelling may occur. Redness disappears usually after a few hours, and a smaller island can take up to several days.

  • PRF (PLATELET-RICH-FIBRIN)

Treatment with blood plasma is a completely biological method of rejuvenating the face, filling the wrinkles, removing the pantyhose and acne scars. In addition, it accelerates growth and prevents hair loss. Treatments use the patient's own blood plasma obtained by centrifuging the blood in a separate PRF apparatus, and the resulting blood plasma is rich in platelets and growth factors. The treatment lasts about 30 minutes. Depending on the changes and the region being treated, it is necessary to do 2-4 treatments. There is no limit to the number of repetitive treatments. The PRF's effects are not seen immediately, but after 2-3 weeks, lasting up to 12 months. Repeat treatment extends the duration of the effect to 18-24 months.
